What does it mean to treat the grace of God meaningless?
What does it mean to treat the grace of God meaningless?
Many think that treating the grace of God meaningless means not obeying the law, not doing something I was supposed to do, not meeting God’s standard, falling short from His glory, or not being good enough; but we need to read this in context and see what it truly means.
I added the parenthesis so we can see that treating the grace of God as meaningless means - thinking we're right with God by trying to keep the standard of the law. Meaning, it's submitting ourselves to the standard of the law in order to BE good enough for God, in order to please Him, or try and be Christlike. Such believe comes from seeing yourself as NOT righteous, not in the image of God, not pure and not a Son.
Galatians 2:20, 21 NLT
"My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless (by trying to keep the law or meet a certain standard because of thinking that I'm not good enough). For (because) if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die."
It's submitting ourselves to teachings that enslave us under it to obey it. Remember? "Whatever teaching we obey, we become slaves to" said Paul. You're not slaves, you're Sons of God and whatever you do it is because you're full, complete, perfect, as God; and not because you still need to work harder to BECOME as God.
"As He is you already are!
It doesn't say "As you work harder and try more you WILL BE as He is."
You see, submitting and believing the teachings that tell you that you're NOT YET this or that, not as God yet... IS treating the grace of God as meaningless.
He says you are, because it was never by you’re law keeping,.. it's a gift and was never based on your performance...
Let go of the standards... and just BE the Son that you already are.
As you see yourself through His eyes, (pure, clean, righteous, holy, perfect, wonderful, amazing, beautiful, compatible spouse, not different that Him, not separated, but the same), your doing will change.
It's never by effort.... it's by knowing who God says you are.
You're His perfect spouse, just as He is.
No, God didn't make any mistake making you,
There is no mistake in love.
You're not a mistake, it was His intention to have you.
Just like a mother kisses her children over and over, or a husband is drawn to his wife; He kisses you over and over and is completely in love with you.
you are His love dream.
